just add chickens The Happy Chicken Tractory from our Little Chicken Factory comes to your house in a six-foot long shipping tube and tips the UPS scale at a svelte 49.3 pounds. It is covered with welded wire – you can cover it with plastic sheeting if you want to use it as a growing tunnel. The Chicken Tractory features a shade and rain cover, door frame and front door and mounting for a nesting box. And remember, if you purchase the Small Unit, you can always double the size by adding the expansion unit later on. When you don’t need it, simply take it apart and store it back in the tube. It is designed to come apart quickly and easily. Let your friends know you want one in our Gift Registry. Buy one for a friend who has chickens. Chicken tractors make great gifts. The basic sturdy structure (Sonny) is five feet wide and six feet long aluminum square tube, raised 10 inches by a vertical post on each corner to afford full use of every inch of the covered ground.
Options include full bottom netting, nesting boxes, feeder and waterer. The Happy Chicken Tractory comes in six-foot and 12-foot lengths and is less than half the cost of many others. We can supply feeders, nesting boxes and watering elements and have listed them as accessories. But we suggest that you can get the same items easily from local sources and save a bit on price, on shipping and handling. We added a roosting pole, but you can supply your own if you like. How did this all happen? When my son Roy came home last fall, two draft horses, two ponies, nine cows, a herd of goats, two dogs, two cats, two chickens, Bitsy and Roostie and four Muscovy ducks came along. MYDogRALPH is adjusting nicely, he seems to like chasing ducks and not catching them, thanks for asking. The neighbors? Not so much, but they’re OK, too. So, back to our story. We got out the scrap lumber and the chicken wire and whacked together a moveable duck coop. It looks exactly like the junk it was made from. That led to the Happy Chicken Tractory From Our Little Chicken Factory—it is light in weight, durable, and affordable. It looks OK. You can wheel it around and then stake it down so it won't blow away. It comes apart if you want to take it in for the winter. If you have any ideas for improving it, please let us know.
